Another cool thing about this wedding is that it was featured on the Rock 'n Roll Bride web site because of Hiedi's cute and stylish tea dress! Rock 'n Roll Bride is a fun web site to gather cool and unique wedding ideas, if you're planning a wedding be sure to check it out!
Here is a sampling of some of our favorites from the day.
Before the ceremony, we had about an hour to capture photographs of the bride and groom by themselves. We began with their "First Glance", them seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day.
The benefit of having two photographers on your wedding day is that you can capture different perspectives of the same moment happening. It allows for a lot of variety that is impossible to get with just one photographer. On the image below, Gene'os photo is on the left and mine is on the right.
We explored a little near downtown and found some great spots for photos on the side streets and in the alleys.
For this series, I asked Hiedi to give me a "coy and serious" type of look...not sure we got that but I love her expressions anyway!
Shortly after our pre-wedding photo shoot, it was time for the ceremony. I love this photo of Hiedi and her dad just after he walked her down the aisle.
The church was beautiful, too.
After the ceremony, the wedding party got on a trolley which drove us around to different photo locations. Everyone had a good time relaxing with a few drinks and enjoying the beautiful weather.
It was so fun getting a chance to do group shots at a variety of locations, it's a luxury we don't often have! As you can see, they had a large but very good looking wedding party!
We snuck in a few more portraits along the St. Croix River while we were down there.
Then it was off to the reception. Their first dance was to Etta James' "At Last". It was just before sunset and the natural light was great.
A quick pose outside of the reception...
After the first dance the band The Rhythm Junkies took the stage and kept everyone dancing all night, they were awesome.
At the end of the night, Jake's band played a few songs for the crowd. They were awesome, too!
Hiedi took this great photo of us at the end of the night right before we packed up to leave.
Thank you Hiedi & Jake for the great time and allowing us to be part of your wedding day!!
