Anyway, I am happy that my first post of 2009 is featuring Elizabeth & Jonathan's wedding. I knew from the first time we met Elizabeth at Nina's Coffee Cafe that she would be a lto of fun to work with. We shot this wedding at the end of October and what a blast it was. We had a wonderful fall day in St. Paul which made for some lovely photos. We had so much fun with this couple, and are happy that they have become friends of ours. In fact, we're meeting them for coffee tonight!
Their wedding took place on October 25 on the Macalester Chapel in St. Paul. Both the bride and groom are alumni and I thought it was awesome that they could get married in the quaint chapel on the campus.
I think the flower below was one of the last remnants of summer. We got lucky that their wedding was a beautiful warm and sunny fall day, because the next day the weather took at turn for the worse and got cold and windy, and even had a little snow. What a difference a day can make in Minnesota!
This is Elizabeth looking stunning in her vintage bridal gown. She's the third bride in her family to wear this dress, with some modifications of course.
Jonathan is looking pretty good himself.
Their first time seeing each other on their wedding day.
My hands-down, favorite shot of the day! I love everything about this, the colors, the shoes, the expressions on their faces...everything.
The guys looking very cool.
The bridal party looking cool, too.
I love this candid shot of the group, everyone looks so happy!
A pretty formal shot of the bridal party, with the burning bush in full color as the backdrop.
Elizabeth! I love this!
The blue doors of the dorms were pretty neat. Their friends lived here when they were in college, so they spent lots of time here back in the day.
Of course, Gene'o couldn't resist demonstrating the proper way to dip the bride.
And Elizabeth had to show off her rockin' blue Converse Allstars.
They had a beautiful ceremony at sunset.
And then it was off to the Cinema Ballroom for the party! The cake table was pretty amazing.
And so were the center pieces. They were artfully designed by Martha at Martha's Gardens.
Their first dance.
And then the party started!
The dance floor was packed all night. Here is a little collage of all the fun that was had at the dance.
The bridal party towards the end of the night! I think they were having fun ;)
So there you have it! A little peak of Elizabeth & Jonathan's beautiful wedding. We were pretty busy all day as you can see, but of course we managed to get a (over-flashed and weird) self portrait of ourselves.
